Italy’s pension funds move together on engagement

Italy is finally gearing up for collective engagement initiatives on Esg matters, so far one of the biggest gaps in the Italian Sri movement.

Below you can find a draft letter that Assofondipensione (Italian Pension Funds Association) is going to send in the autumn to the major international banks (specifically to their IR and CSR managers). The subject is quite clear: “Request of information on Financing the climate change“.
I think it could be one of the main topics on the agenda of the 3rd Italian Sri Week to be held in October 2014.

I’d like to say thanks to Cometa Fondo (Italy’s biggest pension funds) and Maurizio Agazzi, managing director at Cometa Fondo and the newly elected president of the Italian SIF, for taking this revolutionary step for Italy and involving peer funds and Assofondipensione.

Go ahead.
